Passionate about driving sustainable development through powerful storytelling and impactful advocacy, Israel Bionyi is well accomplished in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, and science communication.
His accomplishments include supporting the development of strategies for seven countries to promote women’s land rights, building the capacity of seven Island states to fight climate change in the pacific and the engagement of the African Union and the African Development Bank on land and renewable energy.
He has won several awards for his work in media and development, including the United Nations Media for Social Impact Leadership Council Award 2018, the Science Media Award and Summit Fellowship, the African Development Bank Energy and Climate Fellow and the Haller Development Journalism Award 2015.
Israel has published several journalistic articles and two academic publications focused on data and knowledge and media economics.
